About CDSER
The Centre for Disability Studies & Educational Research (CDSER) was established in the year 2018 under the countenance of School of Education (SoE), NSOU in compliance with UGC guidelines and RCI circular Vide No: 7-128/2016-RCI/46398-14177-775 of (date not mentioned) December, 2016 and duly approved by the 36th Academic Council, NSOU Meeting held on 16/02/18. The Centre was created to serve the immediate community and society as a whole on the issues related to disability, rehabilitation, inclusive education and research in education with conscious understanding and efficiency. The Centre functions under the auspices of SoE, NSOU as per circumscription affirmed by the competent authority of NSOU from time to time.
Vision of the Centre:
The vision of this Centre is to develop human resources in various fields and areas of disability and research in Education and Special Education towards creating a sustainable and inclusive society. The Centre also envisions strengthening the potentialities of teachers and teacher educators, rehab professionals and building competence which would be instrumental to help them connect to the changing society and provide professional support as and when such service is required. Through varied programmes/activities, the Centre rivet in drawing out skills and aptitude necessary for conducting and undertaking research and extension activities of the greater academia.
Purpose of the Centre:

To provide adequate professional training and capacity building to the learners for taking up responsibility in the field of Education, Special Education, Inclusive Education and Research for an inclusive society.

To build up skills and attitudes responsive to emerging relative issues to children with specific needs.

To develop essential inter-personal skills and attitudes to enable the learners to be effective changed agents in the society.

To arrange orientation, training and community outreach programmes for strategic groups and synchronize research skills and know-how in various aspects of Education, Special Education and Inclusive Education.
Functions of the Centre:

To organize Short-term Training programmes, Certificate and Diploma Programmes on various fields of Special Education, Inclusive Education and Educational Research at basic and advance level.

To embark on studies and services relating to Inclusion and Inclusive Education.

To organize wide-ranging services among immediate communities.

To groom and equip learners to face the rapid changing technological and social environment of the contemporary world and academia.

To maintain a functioning Committee to report on the activities of the Centre annually.

To organize collaborative research arrangements.

To conduct Community out-reach Program to stretch out to the denizens so far out of fold with a very humble motive to disseminate emergent issues.
